Devils Tower Entrance Webcam – Traffic & Road Conditions

The Devils Tower Entrance Webcam provides a live look at traffic and road conditions at the entrance to Devils Tower National Monument in northeastern Wyoming. Positioned near the park entrance station, the camera shows the roadway used by visitors entering the monument.

The National Park Service calls this camera “View Entering the Park,” but the view is much more useful than that name suggests. During the busy summer season, visitors can use the webcam to check traffic approaching the entrance station, while winter viewers can see snow and visible road conditions.

    Watch Traffic Entering Devils Tower

Devils Tower National Monument can become extremely busy during the summer, particularly between late May and early September. Traffic may back up as vehicles arrive at the entrance station and continue toward the visitor center.

The National Park Service warns that entrance waits can sometimes exceed 30 minutes during peak periods.

This webcam provides a quick visual check before arriving. A line of vehicles can indicate congestion, while an open roadway may suggest a much easier entrance into the park.

Traffic can become especially heavy during major summer travel periods and around the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August.

    Check Devils Tower Road Conditions

The webcam is also useful for seeing current conditions on the entrance road.

Winter brings snow, ice, and rapidly changing weather to northeastern Wyoming. Spring and fall can also produce sudden snowstorms and freezing conditions.

Because the roadway is clearly visible, the camera provides a useful look at snow coverage, pavement conditions, visibility, and current weather near the entrance.

After passing through the entrance station, visitors continue along the park road toward the visitor center and the base of Devils Tower.

    About Devils Tower National Monument

Devils Tower National Monument protects one of the most recognizable geological landmarks in the American West.

The massive formation rises dramatically above the surrounding ponderosa pine forests and grasslands of northeastern Wyoming. From its base to summit, Devils Tower rises approximately 867 feet, with distinctive vertical columns creating its unmistakable appearance.

In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt designated Devils Tower as the first national monument in the United States.

Long before its federal designation, Devils Tower held deep cultural and spiritual importance for Indigenous peoples of the region. Numerous affiliated tribes maintain cultural connections with the site today.

Visitors entering the monument travel through a landscape of grasslands, forests, and the Belle Fourche River before reaching the developed area near the base of the Tower.

The park is especially popular during summer, when visitors come to hike, photograph Devils Tower, watch wildlife, climb, and explore the surrounding landscape.

The entrance webcam provides a practical look at conditions before visitors begin that drive into the monument.
